All other servicing should bereferred to a qualified technician.Cooktop burnersQuality of FlamesOn Natural Gas the burners’ fl ames should bea blueish color with, at most, a slight yellowishfringe.On Propane gas the fl ames may be “softer”.The cooktop burner fl ames may have a slightyellowish tip.If the fl ame burns with a long white tip youshould call for service.Normal flame appearance Burner not fitted correctlyMAKE SURE THE FLOW OF COMBUSTIONAND VENTILATION AIR TO THE RANGE ISUNOBSTRUCTED.Use the Right Size PanThis appliance is equipped with burners ofdifferent sizes. Use utensils with fl at bottoms.Do not use unstable pans and position thehandles away from the edge of the cooktop.Make sure the fl ames are under the pans. It’snot safe to let the fl ames burn up the sides ofthe pan; the handle may get too hot.Proper relationship of utensil to burner willalso improve efficiency.Never Leave Cooktop burners unattendedat high settings. Pans boiling over cancause smoking and greasy spills maycatch on fire.Protective Liners - Do not use aluminum foilto line cooktop bowls or oven bottoms.Foil liners may result in a risk of electricshock, or fire and will damage the enamelfi nish. Never allow aluminum foil tocontact the heating elements.Glazed Cooking Utensils - Only certaintypes of glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic,earthenware, or other glazed utensilsare suitable for range-top use withoutbreaking due to the sudden change intemperature.Utensil handles should be turned inward andnot over adjacent burners. If handles areleft over adjacent burners they will gethot and may burn.
