33Read all instructions before installing or using this appliance.Installation InstructionsSave these instructions for future reference.For safety reasons curtains must not be fittedimmediately behind the range.We recommend a gap of 43-5/16” (110cm) (forCanada 44-5/16” (112.5cm)) between units toallow for moving the range.If a flush fit is required (USA only), fit the rangeup to the unit at one side then fit the unit theother side.A clearance of 5” (13cm) is required if the rangeis near a corner of the kitchen to allow the ovendoors to open.Location guidelinesDo not locate the range where it may be subjectto strong drafts. Any openings in the floor or wallbehind the range should be sealed. Make surethe openings around the base of the range thatsupply fresh air for combustion and ventilationare not obstructed by carpeting or woodwork.Your range is heavy and can settle into soft floorcoverings such as cushioned vinyl or carpeting.Use care when moving the range on this typeof flooring. It is recommended that the followingsimple and inexpensive instructions be followedto protect your floor.The range should be installed on a sheet ofplywood (or similar material). When the floorcovering ends at the front of the range, the areathat the range will rest on should be built up withplywood to the same level or higher than thefl oor covering.This will allow the range to be moved forcleaning or servicing. Also, make sure yourfl oor covering will withstand 180°F. (See theInstallation Safety Instructions section.)Make sure the wall coverings around yourrange can withstand the heat generated (up to200°F) by the range. (See the Installation SafetyInstructions section.)Moving the RangeThe range is very heavy. Take great care.We recommend two people maneuver the range.Ensure that the floor covering is firmly attached,or removed to prevent it being disturbed whenmoving the range around. You will need theleveling tool.Pull the drawer out to its furthest point.Lift up the ends of the plastic clips (one eachside) to release the catches holding the drawerto the side runners and at the same time pull thedrawer forward and away from the side runners.For safety’s sake push the drawer runners backout of the way. Put the drawer somewhere safe- do not refit it until you have completed theinstallation, you will need access to the areabehind the drawer.Fit the leveling tool on the rectangular adjusteras shown below.
