22Using your RangeCleaning your rangeEssential informationBefore thorough cleaning isolate the electricitysupply. Remember to switch on the electricitysupply before use.Never use paint solvents, causticcleaners, biological powders, bleach,chlorine based bleach cleaners, coarseabrasives or salt. Don’t mix differentcleaning products - they may reacttogether with hazardous results.Recommended cleaning materials areshown in the chart below.Cleaning the Range - Daily careCleaning the range is not a welcomed chore,but it has to be done to maintain effi ciency andappearance. Remember it is better to wipe upany spills as they occur, this will prevent themburning on and becoming more diffi cult toremove later.MAKE SURE THE FLOW OF COMBUSTIONAND VENTILATION AIR TO THE RANGE ISUNOBSTRUCTED -FOR EXAMPLE BY BUILDOF FATS OR GREASE.On Natural Gas the burners fl ames should bea blueish color with, at most, a slight yellowishfringe.On Propane gas the fl ames may be “softer”.The cooktop burner fl ames may have a slightyellowish tip.If the fl ame burns with a long white tip youshould call for service.Cleaning for spillsFor spills and boil-overs that occur whilecooking, as soon as possible turn the burner offand allow to cool. Do not clean until the area iscompletely cooled down. Wipe up spills as soonas possible.Do not allow surplus water to seep into therange.Cleaning chartAll Parts listed here can be cleaned using hot soapy water (dishwashing liquid detergent) and a softcloth. For more diffi cult cleaning, follow the appropriate instruction.
