Scanning from the TWAIN Interface64 DocuMate 515 Scanner User’s GuideScanning from the TWAIN Advanced InterfaceThe Advanced Interface has a wide range of image adjustments forscanning.1. Open the TWAIN Interface.If the Basic Interface opens, click the Advanced Interface button.2. From the Scan Type menu, choose the option to scan:• Auto Document Feeder-Simplex—Scans documents from theAutomatic Document Feeder.• Scan Reflective Using—Scans the document on the Flatbed.3. Click one of the icons to select a configuration.The configuration settings appear as a list. Click the + (plus) sign tosee the full list. Click the - (minus) sign to collapse the list.• Color scans the image in full color. Use this setting to scan colorphotographs and other color images.• Grayscale scans the image using up to 256 true shades of gray.Use this setting to scan black and white photographs and otherhigher quality black and white images. You can also scan a colorphoto with this setting to turn its colors into grey shades.• Black&White is for letters, memos, pen and ink drawings, andother black and white material.4. Click the Scan button.Choose from this menu to scanfrom the Auto DocumentFeeder - Simplex or Reflective(from the Flatbed).Click an icon to select aconfiguration—Color, GreyScale, or Black&White. Clickingthe “+” sign in front of Customshows Custom’s scan settings.Click a setting in the list tochange it. The setting’s optionsappear on the right side of theAdvanced Interface where youcan make changes ifnecessary.Click Preview to view theimage in the window.Check the Scan Info tomake sure your computerhas sufficient space for theimage. Warning icons onthis box appear if yourcomputer does not haveenough space for thescanned image’s file.If you don’t need all thefeatures of the AdvancedInterface, click BasicInterface to return to it. Click Done to close theAdvanced Interface.When you are satisfiedwith the scan settings,click Scan.
