Scanning from the TWAIN Interface60 DocuMate 515 Scanner User’s GuideScanning from the TWAINInterfaceYou can scan from any TWAIN scanning application instead of scanningfrom the One Touch buttons on your scanner or the One Touch buttonpanel.A Note About Your Scanner and the TWAIN standard: TWAIN is awidely recognized standard that computers use to receive images fromscanners, digital cameras, and other digital devices. The TWAINscanning interface can be accessed from any TWAIN scanningapplication you have installed on the computer. Applications such asNuance PaperPort and OmniPage, which were provided with yourscanner, and many other applications, can use the TWAIN interface forscanning. Because the TWAIN interface is the same regardless of thesoftware you use to open it, you can still use the instructions in this User’sGuide for scanning with your Xerox DocuMate 515 scanner. To accessthe TWAIN interface from other software, please refer to their user’sguides, then return to this User’s Guide for the steps to scan.The PaperPort and OmniPage user guides are located on the installationdisc you received with the scanner.The PaperPort software includes a complete set of help topics thatanswer questions about each feature of the software. To open the HelpTopics window, press the F1 key on your keyboard or choose PaperPorthelp from the Help menu.NOTE: You can access the TWAIN interface when you’re scanningfrom the One Touch software. If the One Touch configuration you areusing is set to Configure Before Scan, and the selected option isTWAIN, the TWAIN interface opens right away when pressing thebutton on your scanner without opening any other TWAIN-compliantsoftware first. See the section “Configure Before Scan” on page 36 fordetails.
