Chapter 22-302.4.2 Pickup Roller and the Stopper 0006-2264The pickup unit consists of pickup rollers and separation rollers.1) When the Start key is pressed or the original pickup signal arrives, the pickup motor (M2)rotates in reverse so that the pickup unit moves down so that the pickup roller and theseparation roller start to move the original. The stopper moves up operating in conjunctionwith the pickup unit. To prevent double-feeding at time of pickup, the machine uses theseparation pad and the separation plate. When the original reaches the registration roller and arches, the pickup motor starts to rotateto drive the registration roller, which will then move the original forward. At this time, thedrive from the pickup motor to the separation roller is cut by the work of an electromagneticclutch. The separation roller has a built-in one-way cultch, which serves to rotate the rollerby the work of friction against paper.2) At the end of a job, the pickup motor starts to rotate in normal direction; drive A (notmoving through the electromagnetic clutch) and drive B (moving through theelectromagnetic clutch) reach the separation roller shaft to move up the pickup roller to itsupper limit.
