Disc playbackThis section shows you the basics on how to play adisc.Basic playback {DVD/VCD/CD)*1 Press POWERon the TV control panel or on theremote control.The Power LED oll the front of the LCD TV /DVD combination changes to green. [t may takeapproximately 10 seconds for a picture to appearon-screen.When using an amplifier, switch on the amplifier.2 Press _ oll the remote control to switch toDVD mode.The DVD start-up screen will appear on-screen.3 Hold the disc by its edges and load it in the discslot with the label side facing forward.The prompt "Insert Disc" changes to "Reading"and then playback starts.Note: DO NOT touch the surface of the disc.This may leave a smudge that can causeplayback errors.If the disc has its own menu, it will be displayedon-screen. Press A V 4 or _ on the remotecontrol to navigate the disc menu, then press @to implement the selected menu option.To adjust playback volume:Press _ / v_.To temporarily suspend disc playback (stillmode):PAUSEPress 12_ •To continue playback from still mode:PLAYPress GEl.To stop playback:STOPPress C_I-Playback resmne function:Your LCD TV / DVD combination supports playbackresume function.[f you stopped the disc playback before it iscompleted, the LCD TV / DVD combination recordsthe stop point.** PLAY" _ appears on-screen. If you press {_ twice mquick succession or unload the disc, the LCD TV /DVD combination will clear the stop point.Higher quality picture:High resolution pictures on some discs mayoccasionally cause noise on the picture display. [fthis is the case, reduce the Sharpnesssetting underthe PictureSettings menu ([_ page 38).Note:,, Keep your fingers we//c/ear of the disc slotwhen a disc is loading or unloading. Failureto do so may cause serious personal injury. Do not move the TV during playback. Doingso may damage the disc.. When a disc is inserted when the TV is not inDVD mode, the TV will automatically switchto DVD mode.,_ This indicatesthe kind of disc that can employ thefunction described under that heading.DVD : You can use this function with DVDs.VCD : You can use this function with Video CDs.CD : Youcan use this function with Audio CDs andCD-R/RW discs.Removinga disc1 Press EJECTS' on the TV control panel or on theremote control.Wait for the disc to be ejected and then removethe disc from the slot.Disc playback reminders'J [f the LCD TV / DVD combination does notoperate properly, static electricity build-upmay be the cause. Turn off the LCD TV / DVDcombination, then disconnect the power cord fromthe AC outlet. Reconnect the power cord, thenpress POWER°_" to turn on the LCD TV / DVDcombination ag=ain.* If an incompatible disc is loaded, one of thefollowing error messages appears on-screen:"Incorrect Disc", "Disc region incorrect" or"Enter Password".
