Adjusting the picture qualityYou can adjust the picture quality (Contrast,Backlight, DynaLight 'M, Brightness, Color, Tint, andSharFmess.) to your personal preferences.Contrast lower higherBacklight* darker lighterDynaLight** On/Off On/OffBrightness darker lighterColor paler deeperTint reddish greenishSharpness softer sharper* BacklightThis feature adjusts the brightness of theentire screen. When in video mode and nosignal is input, this will automatically be set toO. (Settings are stored in memory.)** DynaLightThis function automatically strengthens theblack coloring of dark areas in the videoaccording to the level of darkness.To adjust tile picture quality:1 Press s_P and open the Picturemenu.2 Highlight PictureSettingsand press o@.3 Press A or V to select the picture quality youwant to adjust (Contrast, Backlight, DynaLight,Brightness, Color, Tint, or Sharpness), and thenpress 4 or _ to adjust the setting, as described inthe table above.4 To save the new settings, highlight [}one andpress @. You can use any of the picture modes(_t+>"Selecting the picture mode" on page 37) as astarting point for adjusting the picture settings.To revert back to the base mode that you beganadjusting the picture settings from, highlightReset and press o@.The picture qualities you adjusted are automaticallysaved in the Preference mode ([t+_"Selecting thepicture mode" on page 37) until Reset is selected.Using the closed caption modeBaseclosed captionsThe closed caption mode has two options:* Captions--An on-screen display of the dialogue,narration and sound effects of TV programs andvideos that are closed captioned (usually marked"CC" in program guides).* Text--An on-screen display of information notrelated to the current program, such as weather orstock data (when provided by individual stations).To view captions or text:SETUP1 Press @ and open the Preferences menu,highlight Base CC Mode.Press "9 or _ to select the desired closed captionCANCELmode and press _) .* To view captions:Highlight CC1, CC2, CC3, or CC4. (CC1 displaystranslation of the primary language in your area.)Note: If the program or video you selectedis not closed captioned, no captions willdisplay on-screen.• To view text:Highlight T1, T2, T3, or T4.Note: If text is not available in your area, ablack rectangle may appear on screen.
