Digital CC SettingsYou can customize the closed caption displaycharacteristics by changing the background color,opacity, text size, type, edge, and color.Note:o This feature is available for digital channelsonly.° You cannot set the Caption Text andBackground as the same colonTo customize the closed captions:1 Press s_P and open the Preferences menu.2 Highlight Digital CC Settings and press @.3 Press A or V to highlight the characteristic youwant to change, and then press 4 or _ to selectthe format for that characteristic (see table below).4. To save the new settings, highlight D0ue and press@. To revert to the factory defaults, highlightReset and press @.Caption Size Auto, Small, Standard, LargeAuto, Default, Mono w. Serif,Caption Text Prop. w. However, once youchange to another analog channel, the closed captionsetting will automatically change back to the currentBaseCCMode setting.You can also use the CC Select0r to select digitalclosed caption services (if available). When suchservices are not available, the CC Seiect0r presents adefault list of services, l[f the selected service is notavailable, the next best service will be used instead.To select closed captions:1 Press s_P and open the Preferencesmenu.Highlight ccSelector and press @.Press 4 or _ to select the desired service.4 Press% cB-.SUBTm_ENote: You can also press @ to open CCSelector and follow from step 3.Adjusting the audioMuting the sound (For TV speakers)MUTEPress O on the remote control to partially reduce (1/2MUTE) or turn off (MUTE) the sound. Each time youpress _6 E, the mute mode will change in the followingorder:F 1/2 Mute _ Mute -4 Volume --*-=7[f the closed caption mode is set to Off when youselect "MUTE" mode, the closed caption feature isautomatically activated if the TV program is ClosedCaptioned. To mute the audio without automaticallyactivating the closed caption feature, use _ toset the volume to 0. See "Using the Closed captionmode" (_" page 38) for more information on closedcaption modes.Note: If you modify items in the SOUND menuwhile Mute is active, the Mute will automaticallybe canceled.Usingthe digital audioselectorYou can use the Digital Audio Selector toconveniently switch between audio tracks on a digitalchannel (for those channels that have multiple audiotracks). This temporarily overrides the audio trackchosen by the language option under Audio Setup(_" "Selecting stereo/SAP broadcasts" on page 40).To use the digital audio selector:1 Press s_P and open the Souud menu.Highlight Digital Audio Selector and press @.3 Press 4 or _ to select the desired service.4 PressC_ cs-.
