D25User's Manual GE Grid Solutions80 994-0081-3.00-21 GE InformationChapter 3: Powering-up and TestingPower-up andtest the D25Once you have completed all field wiring and communication connectionsand the necessary hardware configuration, the next step is to power-up theD25 and verify that it is functioning properly.Use this section of the guide to prepare for powering-up and learn how tocorrectly perform the power-up and other tests:• What is needed to test: WESMAINT II+, 68K Monitor and SGConfig• How to power-up the D25 and conduct the BOOT Test: Power On Self-Test• Digital Input Verification Test• Digital Output Verification Test• DC Analog Input Test• AC Voltage and Current Input TestIf power-up and test reveals that the D25 is not functioning properly due tosoftware malfunction and you need to download code and configuration filesto the FLASH memory, see D25 Software.Note Before any of the tests and procedures in this section can be performed, avalid configuration file must be loaded into the D25’s NVRAM.If you have replaced the main board of the D25, then you need to restore theconfiguration file so that verification tests can be performed.If you need help restoring your configuration file, refer to the SGConfig OnLine Help.Testing UtilitiesTesting Utilities The following utilities are used to configure and test the D25:• WESMAINT II+• 68K Monitor• SGConfig Configuration systemThere is some functional overlap between these components.WESMAINTII+Each operational D25 unit includes a WESMAINT II+ facility that allowsyou to go on-line with the D25 to examine the database, applications andcommunications, and to manipulate the data.For example, the state of a digital input data can be examined, or a digitaloutput forced on or off.
