It is the first component visible when the front panel is removed.Locate the Panasonic® BR2 / 3 A (or equivalent) lithium battery near the top-left of the Type III WESDAC board. It is provided to maintain the contents ofthe NVRAM when the unit is powered down.Refer to Battery Replacement on page 113 for information on changing thisbattery.20 MB MemoryExpansionBoard BatteryLocate the Tadiran® TL-2100S (or equivalent) lithium battery on the 20 MBMemory Expansion Board. It is provided to maintain the contents of theNVRAM when the unit is powered down.Refer to Battery Replacement on page 113 for information on changing thisbattery.BatteryCheckingCheck battery voltage using a meter or other measuring device that has a highinput impedance (10 MΩ or higher).Cleaning &Handling ofLithiumBatteries• Use non-conductive cleaning solution to prevent deterioration of batteryperformance.• Dry batteries at a temperature below 85° C to prevent seal deformation that may,in turn, result in leakage.• Avoid:− inversion of polarity− exposure to high temperatures, such as soldering or spot-welding− excessive force to terminals• Wear gloves or finger caps when handling batteries to keep them clean.• For long-term storage− keep at temperatures and humidity below normal− avoid shorting or loading while stored.BatteryReplacementIf the battery is disconnected, or if the D25 is never powered down, the life ofthe battery should exceed five years.The life of the battery will be severely shortened if the battery is leftconnected while the D25 is powered down for extended periods or stored.The battery can be changed with power applied to the D25, so that service isnot interrupted.Note: The status of the battery is provided during the D25 start-up sequence.
