GE Grid Solutions D25User's ManualGE Information 994-0081-3.00-21 41Control OutputsControl Module The control module can be configured for two basic modes of operation:• Trip/Close (T/C) – excluding D25 High Current KE Control Card• Digital Output (DO)Any other type of operation, such as Raise/Lower, uses the Digital Outputhardware configuration.T/C or DO(R/L) SensingD25 software detects what type of digital output command has been received, and uses the Master Trip and Master Close relays when appropriate.External jumpering is provided to route the external Control Voltage throughthe correct relays for each mode of operation.FuseMonitoringThe control module includes circuitry that detects the presence of controlvoltage on the load side of the fuses. Software in the D25 Plant I/OSubsystem (P097 V2.30 or greater) responds to the signal from the controlmodule and creates a pseudo digital input that can be seen in the D25 SystemPoint Database. If a fuse opens, or the control voltage is removed from the digital outputmodule for any reason, the pseudo digital input (DI) for that module willchange state and set an alarm. If the control module is not present, the pseudo DI point will remain in the Offstate.Note 1: The fuse monitoring circuitry can only detect a control voltage aboveapproximately 10 Vdc. If the control voltage is less than this level, the fuse monitoring circuitry will not sense any voltage, and thepseudo DI point will remain in the Off state.Note 2: Fuse monitoring works with positive or negative grounded systems.Note 3: For D25s with Plant I/O Version 2.30, the fuse-monitoring featurewill only work with DC control voltages. Versions greater than 2.30support AC control voltage monitoring.Note 4: The D25 High Current Control Card does not have a fuse and a fusemonitoring circuit.!CautionThe fuse monitoring circuitry has been engineered to detect control voltagesup to the supported maximum specifications of the module. Do not exceedthis level of control voltage. Damage to the module may result.Note The D25 KE control module does not require hardware configuration to usethe fuse-monitoring feature.
