We recommend that you contactan authorised Cadillac workshop, seepage 248.Checking the number of remotecontrolsTo check the number of remote controls thatare programmed for the car:1 Insert the remote control into the ignitionswitch and turn it to position 3.2 Press and hold the button for morethan 2 seconds within 30 seconds ofturning the ignition switch to position 3.3 The DIC will now display the number ofremote controls that are programmed foryour car, and which of these (1–5) is inthe ignition switch.Example of DIC message:Changing the batteryWhen the voltage of the remote control bat-tery drops below a certain level, the DIC willdisplay:Change the battery as soon as possible toavoid malfunctioning.Battery: For optimum performance in alltemperatures and good service life, werecommend the use of a Sony or PanasonicCR2032, 3V lithium battery.The battery should last for about 4 years ofnormal use.The battery type is marked on the inside ofthe remote control. Avoid leaving finger-prints on the faces of the battery.Number of keys:Active key number:WARNINGKeep the battery and other small compo-nents of the remote control out of reach ofchildren.NOTICEThe electronics of the remote control aresensitive to electrostatic discharge.
