185Car careThe foot brake and handbrake are self-adjusting.It is not possible to detect, through abnormalpedal or handbrake lever travel, whether thebraking lining is worn and needs replacing.It is therefore essential that brake lining bechecked regularly, as specified in theservice programme.Braking lining replacement should beentrusted to a workshop. We recom-mend that you contact an authorisedCadillac workshop.Power steeringCheck the level of the power steering fluid inthe reservoir regularly, in accordance withthe service programme.The wheels should point directly forwardsduring this check.Clean round the cap before unscrewing it.Wipe the dipstick. To check the level, screwdown the cap completely and then removeit again.The oil level should lie between the MAXand MIN marks when the oil temperature isabout +20 °C.
