_______________________________________ Configuration 6-31Tray Selection OptionsYou can select a specific tray as the default media source or you canuse tray chaining to automatically switch to another source for mediawhen the current source is empty.Selecting a Specific TrayUse the Tray Select control key or your application’s options toselect a specific tray as the media source. The Tray Select key allowsyou to scroll through tray options in the window. Options are manfeed (multipurpose feeder), cassette (standard cassette), upperoptional, and lower optional. The last two selections appear only ifthese optional trays are installed.In most Macintosh applications, use the Print dialog box PaperSource options to specify the media tray.• The All pages from options allow you to choose a specific trayor use the printer’s default to print all pages of a job.• The First page from and Remaining from options allow you tospecify one tray for the first page and a different tray for the restof the print job.In most PC applications, you can specify the media tray on the PaperSource tab of the Page Setup dialog box or on the Paper tab of thePrint dialog box’s Properties section.• The AutoSelect Tray option directs the printer to use the mediasource that contains the paper size you selected in the file.• Other options (Cassette, Upper Optional Tray, Lower OptionalTray, and Manual feed) direct the printer to use a specific tray.Optional tray selections are valid only if these trays are installed.Enabling Tray ChainingUse the MISC:TRAY SWITCH configuration menu or your Printdialog box options to enable tray chaining. Your printer allows youto chain to all paper cassettes and the multipurpose feeder if thefollowing conditions are met.
