-37-■ Camera SettingTo Display the Camera Setting MenuMove the cursor to CAMERA O, and press the CAM(SET) key. The camera setting menu appears.● Camera Identification (CAMERA ID)You can use the camera identification to assign a nameto the camera. The camera ID consists of up to 16alphanumeric characters. You can select whether tohave the camera ID displayed on the monitor screen ornot.The factory default setting is OFF.ON: Camera ID appears on the monitor screen.OFF: Camera ID does not appear.Press the CAM (SET) key to display the camera ID set-ting menu.To Enter a New Camera ID(1) Move the cursor to the desired character using thejoystick, and press the CAM (SET) key.(2) The selected character appears in the editing area.(The pointer in the editing area moves to the rightautomatically at this moment.) To enter a blank,select SPACE.(3) Repeat the above procedure until all charactersare entered.Note: Refer to page 32 for POSI, RET and RESET.● Light Control Setting (ALC/MANUAL)You can select the mode for adjusting the lens iris.There are two modes as follows:ALC: The lens iris is automatically adjusted to suit thebrightness of the object.You can select one of two modes (BLC ON or BLCOFF) of backlight compensation.Backlight compensation is available in the ALCmode. It eliminates strong background light whichmakes the camera picture dark such as a spotlight.MANUAL: The lens iris is fixed at the value that youhave set regardless of the brightness of an object.1. Display the SET UP menu on the monitor screen byreferring to page 29.2. The factory default setting is ALC.When you select ALC, set backlight compensation.Note: The backlight compensation submenu asso-ciated with this menu is described separatelyand should be set up after installing the cam-era at the site and observing the actual sitepicture.3. When MANUAL is selected, quit the setup menu bypressing the MON (ESC) key.
