Logical Installation72 Installation Manual1. Click the Option radio button for method to be used; Update Configuration File or Uploadto Unit and Reboot. Both methods will save the file to the MCS. If the Update ConfigurationFile method is used, proceed to step 4.2. If the Upload to Unit and Reboot method is selected, click the Reboot access method radiobutton for the method to be used to upload the data to the unit.3. Click the RS232C radio button to select the upload method.4. Click on the Finish button to complete the Wizard. Click on the Cancel button to exit theWizard and lose all changes.Once the Finish button is clicked the MCS will perform the specified operations.If the Update Configuration File method was used, the unit's updated OFDD.VHO file is saved,and the Main Directory windows will be redisplayed with the new unit displayed in the Unitswindow pane.If the Upload to Unit and Reboot method is used, the MCS updates the Unit setup informationin the unit and displays a confirmation message indicating the operation was successful.An error message will be displayed if a connection could not established.In addition to the upload, the unit's updated OFDD.VHO file will be saved, and the MainDirectory windows will be shown with the new unit displayed in the Units window pane.• During the first time configuration (unit initialisation) the RS-232C cable must beconnected to the unit and the COM port being used on the computer terminal must beproperly selected to perform the following operation.• During subsequent sessions, the unit setup (e.g., IP addresses) can be edited remotely usinga LAN connection. This is done by selecting the Edit Data/Change Unit Information itemon the MCS Unit menu. When this method is used, the computer and unit must be withinthe same subnet or communication will be lost after the new configuration becomeseffective.• As discussed in the previous note, the LAN upload method should only be selected for unitsthat have been previously initialised and are already on-line in the network.• The unit reboot process can take over a minute to complete. Observe the LED indicationson the front panel of the unit to verify that the reboot process is complete before attemptingto perform additional operations with the unit.
