Thissection describes and identifies various components within theOverhead Console, Instrument Panel Gauge Cluster, CenterDash Panel / Wing Panel, Steering Column and Switches,Steering Wheel Controls, Door and Window Controls, CollisionWarning / Safety Systems, and Electronic Touchscreen.ElectricalWARNINGTo prevent property damage, personal injury, and/ or death, this vehicle may be equipped fromthe factory with electrical switches intended tooperate equipment that was installed by a TruckEquipment Manufacturer (TEM). Instructions,Cautions, and Warnings for this additionalequipment will NOT be found in this manual.Read and understand the appropriate manualfor the specific equipment in question beforeoperating.NOTE: This vehicle may be equipped with electronic,application-specific options not described in this operator’smanual. Many of these features are supplied with rockerswitches that have custom labels applied. The presence ofthese options as factory installed can be verified from theLine Set Ticket included with the vehicle. A TEM, however,may have installed some of these options after production.In that case, they will not appear on the Line Set Ticket.If installed by a TEM, you should receive an operatingguide and / or training for the specific functions provided.Familiarize yourself with all of the switches that controlchassis, engine, and body equipment and seek adequatetraining on the function of all features before operating thisvehicle.Electrical SystemThe Electrical System provides a means to distribute theelectrical power and provide the driver with controls andindications of vehicle performance. Unlike previous electricalsystems, this system uses multiplexing for connecting to majorfunctional areas of the truck with much less wiring. The systemis controlled by the Body Controller, which provides interfaces toa majority of vehicle switches and sensors. The Body Controlleralso communicates with the standard and optional systemcontrollers and modules in the vehicle.47
