5-2 Installing the Operating System with Express SetupAbout Express Setup"Express Setup" contained in your NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM is intended for initial setupof the server. Its automatic installation mode guides the user easily through the process bydetailing specific hardware features and providing screen prompts for software selection andconfiguration. The program loads the utilities and drivers, applies RAID settings, partitions thedisk, and installs the desired operating system.IMPORTANT: Express Setup is intended for the initial setup of theserver system. Therefore, it clears the contents of the hard disk.For Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000, Express Setup automatically configuresyour server and installs the operating system. After a few tasks are completed, all that remains tobe done is to remove the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM and insert the Windows CD-ROM,input a product ID number, and acknowledge the license agreement.For the other operating systems, Express Setup initializes the target disk(s), creates the maintenancepartition, and installs the various maintenance utilities from the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM to lead your server to ready-to-install for the desired operating system.
