Installing Windows Server 2003 D-3Partition SizeThe minimum required partition size for installation of Windows Server 2003 is:2900MB + Paging file size + Dump file sizePaging file size (recommended) = Mounted memory size * 1.5Dump file size = Mounted memory size + 12 MBIMPORTANT: The above paging file size is necessary for collecting debuginformation (memory dump). If you set the default value ofpaging file size smaller than the 'recommended' value, the accuratedebug information(memory dump) may not be collected. The maximum paging file size which can be set on one partition is4095MB. If the above paging file size exceeds 4095MB, specify4095MB for the paging file size. The dump file size for the system with more than 2GB memorymounted is '2048MB + 12MB'. If you install any application program or the like, add necessaryspace to the partition to install these programs. For example, if installed memory size is 512MB, the minimum required partition size is2900MB + (512MB * 1.5) + (512MB + 12MB) = 4192MB.Dividing into the partition of the recommended size into multiple disks as written below will solveproblem that it cannot be reserved in one disk.1. Set the "Size required for installation + Paging file size".2. See Chapter 5 and set that debugging information (equivalent to the dump file size) is tobe written to a separate disk.(If the disk does not have enough free space to enable the file size to be written, then afterinstalling the system using the "Size required for installation + Paging file size," install anadditional new disk.)
