Referto the relevant manufacturer’s literature for precise details on how to wire these devices.• Open and short circuits on the sounder wiring are detected by the SCC module, logged, and displayed bythe control panel. Wiring faults on the loop are also detected by the panel and again logged and displayed.• Any SCC connected to the system can be configured to sound for fires in ANY zone in the system.• When SCC units are used, their zone programming selection is shown by using the same ‘Sounder’configuration option as the on-board outputs. For example, an SCC module wired onto loop 2 ataddress number 117 may be shown as:[ Panel in Commissioning mode ]---------------------------------------------SOUNDER Pattern2:117_a 001• This shows all sounders wired into the SCC module located on loop 2 at address 117 will use ringingpattern number 1.From Version 828 OnwardWhen using an Hochiki CHQ-AB beacon device in combination with a CHQ-BS basesounder (using the same address), both devices may have independent pattern settings.Settings associated with the CHQ-AB will be displayed with a suffix ’a’ appended to theaddress e.g. ‘2:117_a’ and CHQ-BS with a suffix ‘b’ e.g. ‘2:117_b’.5.4.4 Peripheral Loop Addressable Sounder Circuit Controller Units• Up to 15 4-way sounder cards can be added to the system via the RS485 peripheral loop.• These sounders are programmed in the same way as the other sounders.
