Connecting Your GPSMAP 60Cxto a ComputerYou can connect your GPSMAP 60Cx to yourcomputer using either a serial port or USB connectorcable.Note: Fully install the supplied MapSourceTrip & Waypoint Manager software, on yourcomputer before connecting the USB cable to thecomputer.To connect your GPSMAP 60Cx to yourcomputer:1. Lift the USB protective cover from the backof the GPSMAP 60Cx, and insert the smallerconnector on the USB cable into the matchingport.2. Connect the remaining cable end to yourcomputer's USB port.To connect to your computer using a SerialPort connector:1. Lift the Serial Port protective cover from theback of the GPSMAP 60Cx, and insert theround indexed connector on the cable into thematching port.2. Connect the remaining cable end to your PCSerial port or other appropriate device.3. Set your GPSMAP 60Cx interface settingto the appropriate interface format. Refer toInterface Setup on page 58.Information about the USB DriversThe USB drivers should have been automaticallyinstalled when you installed the Trip & WaypointManage software that came with your GPSMAP60Cx. When you initially connect the GPSMAP 60Cxto a USB port, your computer might prompt you tolocate the destination of the drivers for the device, thedefault directory is c:\Garmin. You only need to installthe drivers once. After the drivers are installed, yourcomputer always detects your GPSMAP 60Cx when itis connected.
