LIGHTING 155Lighting FeaturesEntry LightingSome exterior lamps and most of theinterior lights turn on briefly at night,or in areas of limited lighting when Kis pressed on the Remote KeylessEntry (RKE) transmitter. See RemoteKeyless Entry (RKE) System Operation0 10. When the driver door is opened,all control lights, Driver InformationCenter (DIC) lights, and door pocketlights turn on. After about 30 secondsthe exterior lamps turn off, then theremaining interior lights dim to off.Entry lighting can be disabledmanually by changing the ignition outof the OFF position, or by pressing Qon the RKE transmitter.This feature can be changed. See“Vehicle Locator Lights” under VehiclePersonalization 0 140.Entry Lighting with ApproachDetectionIf equipped with approach detection,the entry lighting feature willautomatically turn on when the RKEtransmitter is detected withinapproximately 2 m (6 ft) of the vehicle.If the vehicle has remained parked foran extended period of time with noRKE transmitter use or Keyless Accessoperation, approach detection will bedisabled. To reactivate, press anybutton on the RKE transmitter oropen and close all vehicle doors tore-enable the entry lighting feature onapproach.Approach detection will not work if:. The vehicle battery is low.. The ignition is on or in ACC/ACCESSORY.. Entry lighting is set to Off. The RKE transmitter is left withina 5 m (16 ft) range of the vehiclefor several minutes. The dome lamp comes onafter the ignition is turned off. Theexterior lamps and dome lamp remainon for a set amount of time, thenautomatically turn off.The exterior lamps turn offimmediately by turning the exteriorlamp control off.This feature can be changed.
