6.6 Cleaning the Printer 141Cleaning the Feed RollWhen feeding cannot be done, follow the procedure below to wipe the feed roll gently witha well-wrung soft cloth.There are feed rolls in the interior of this printer (two locations, total of four), tray module(one location), paper tray (one location) and optional bypass tray (one location).The following procedure explains how to clean the feed roll set in the paper tray. Follow thisprocedure also when cleaning the feed rolls inside of the printer and the tray module.Note• The feed roll is a regular replacement part.Feed rollInside of printer (two locations) Tray module (one location) Paper tray (one location)Open cover A and after uninstallingthe drum/toner cartridge, clean thefeed roll.Even without uninstalling thetray module, you can clean thefeed roll after pulling out thepaper tray.Pull out the paper tray andclean the feed roll.Switch off the power.
