Setting Up the KX-NT400This section describes the settings that you canconfigure when you start the KX-NT400.IMPORTANT• The KX-NT400 requires 2 IP addresses for itsoperation. Before configuring the start-upsettings, make sure that 2 IP addresses areavailable for the KX-NT400.• Using the PC Maintenance Console to programthe PBX, you must set the Incoming Call LogMemory for the KX-NT400 to 0. If you do notchange this setting, missed calls will not behandled correctly on the Calls screen or theFeature Key screen (in Call List mode).For details about the Incoming Call LogMemory setting, see the PBX’s documentation.• The "ringing" icons on the Contacts screen (forexample, ) do not appear if you use thedefault settings. To make the ringing iconsappear, you must set the DSS key mode forIncoming Call setting to "ON or Flash" using thePC Maintenance Console. For details, see thePBX’s documentation.Accessing the Start-up Settings1. Connect the KX-NT400 to an Ethernet cablecapable of delivering power (PoE compliant), or usean optional AC adaptor to supply power.2. Connect the KX-NT400 to the network.NoteThe first time you start the KX-NT400, thecalibration screen appears. Follow theinstructions to calibrate the screen.
