Using Other Useful Receiving FunctionsMemory ReceivingIf the machine receives a fax under one of the following conditions, the machine will not be ableto print the received fax and will store it in its memory. "RECEIVED IN MEMORY" isdisplayed in fax mode. When the problem is resolved as described, the fax stored in memory isprinted automatically.Ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax: replace the FINE Cartridge.Paper size/type setting is incorrect: correct the paper size/type setting.Paper has run out while receiving a fax: load the paper and press the OK button.Output Tray is closed: open it.OFF is selected for AUTO PRINT RX: select ON.You pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax: press the FAX button.ImportantThe machine can store up to approximately 50 pages* of faxes inmemory.If the memory becomes full, the machine cannot receive any morefaxes. Print or delete the documents stored in memory, and thencontact the sender and have him/her resend them.* When using ITU-T No.1 chart (Standard mode)Remote ReceivingIf the machine is located away from the telephone, pick up the handset and dial 25 (the remotereceiving ID) to receive faxes (remote reception).If you use a rotary pulse line, temporarily switch your telephone to tone dialing. For detailson how to switch to tone dialing, see the instruction manual supplied with your telephone.If you have an answering machine connected to the machine that can carry out remotecontrol operations, the security code for this function may be the same as the remotereceiving ID. In this case, change the remote reception ID in REMOTE RX ID inREMOTE RX in RX SETTINGS under FAX SETTINGS.Remote reception can be disabled. See REMOTE RX.97
