Cleaning the paper feedroller will wear the roller, so perform this procedure onlywhen necessary.For details on cleaning, see Cleaning the Paper FeedRoller (Roller Cleaning).Inside of themachine isdirty.When performing duplex printing, if the specified pagesize does not match the actual size of paper loaded inthe paper source, the inside will become stained with ink,causing printed paper to become smudged.Perform the Bottom Plate Cleaning to clean the inside ofthe machine.For details on cleaning, see Cleaning the Inside of theMachine (Bottom Plate Cleaning).NoteTo prevent the inside of the machine from gettingstained, set the page size correctly.Printed paperis taking longto dry.When printing documents such as photos, which takeslonger to dry, the next sheet may be fed before theprevious one has dried.Either remove each printed sheet from the Paper OutputTray as soon as it is printed, or specify the Ink DryingWait Time so that the machine will pause after eachsheet has printed.(1) Make sure that the machine is turned on.(2) Open the printer properties dialog box.See Opening the Printer Properties Dialog Box Directlyfrom Control Panel.(3) Click the Maintenance tab and thenCustom Settings.(4) Drag the Ink Drying Wait Time slide bar toset the wait time, and then click Send.(5) Confirm the message and click OK.(1) Make sure that the machine is turned on.170
