Chapter 10 Installing and Using the Battery Pack 167Battery Pack CapacityWith a fully charged battery pack, you may be able to print up to 200 pageswithout the use of AC power. The actual printing time depends on thecomplexity of the data you are printing.Printing With a Low BatteryWhen you are using the battery pack and the battery starts to run low, theprinter beeps twice, displays C and 5 alternately, and stops printing. Youcan press ON LINE to continue printing. After printing a few more sheets,the printer will stop again. You can press ON LINE to continue severaltimes. When you finish printing, turn off the power.When the battery becomes completely discharged, the printer beeps forabout five seconds, displays F and C alternately, and stops printing. Anydata that has not printed is lost. Press the POWER button to turn off theprinter.To continue printing, make sure the printer is turned off and attach theAC adapter to supply power.Discharging the Battery PackIt’s a good idea to let the battery pack completely discharge before youcharge it. This will optimize the charge capacity of the battery pack.If you notice that the printer is printing fewer pages with a full charge, youcan initiate a complete discharge process. Follow these steps:1. Make sure the battery pack is installed in the battery case.2. Make sure the AC adapter is attached.3.
