144 Troubleshooting Chapter 8Clearing Paper JamsWhen a paper jam occurs, the printer sounds a short buzzer twice, andalternately displays E and 2. The printer goes off-line. Clear the paper jamas follows:1. Remove the stack of paper from the paper support.2. Gently pull the paper out with one hand while holding the printer inplace with the other hand.o If the leading edge of the jammed sheet of paper has not yet emergedfrom the exit slot, pull the paper out from the sheet feeder whilepressing down on the button on the right side of the sheet feeder.o If the leading edge of the jammed sheet is coming out of the paperexit slot, pull the paper out carefully from the paper exit slot.
