Black plate (31,1)Cadillac ATS (Europe) - 2013 - crc - 10/8/12Driving and Operating 9-31Ride Control SystemsTraction ControlSystem (TCS)The vehicle has TCS, which limitswheel spin. This is especially usefulin slippery road conditions. On arear-wheel-drive vehicle, the systemoperates if it senses that one orboth of the rear wheels are spinningor beginning to lose traction. On anall—wheel—drive vehicle, thesystem will operate if it senses thatany of the wheels are spinning orbeginning to lose traction. When thishappens, the system brakes thespinning wheel(s) and/or reducesengine power to limit wheel spin. The system may be heard or feltwhile it is working but this is normal.TCS is on whenever the vehicle isstarted. To limit wheel spin, especially in slippery roadconditions, the system shouldalways be left on. But, TCS can beturned off if needed.TCS/StabiliTrak Lightd flashes to indicate that the TCS isactive. If there is a problem detected withTCS, a message may be displayedon the Driver Information Centre(DIC). See Ride Control SystemMessages on page 5‑36. When oneof these messages is displayed andd comes on and stays on, thevehicle is safe to drive but thesystem is not operational. Drivingshould be adjusted accordingly. If d comes on and stays on, resetthe system:1. Stop the vehicle.2. Turn the engine off and wait15 seconds.3. Start the engine. If d still comes on and stays on at aspeed above 20 km/h (13 mph), seeyour dealer for service.A chime may also sound when thelight comes on continuously.Notice: Do not repeatedly brakeor accelerate heavily when TCS isoff. The vehicle's driveline couldbe damaged.Manual Gearbox TCS/StabiliTrakButton Shown, AutomaticTransmission TCS/StabiliTrakButton Similar
