VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FB Installation and Setup Guide3-22Installing the 4100APG Pager InterfaceWhenever an event occurs on the VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FB, a message can be sent to a pager. This isaccomplished by using the 4100APG Pager Interface. The 4100APG will dial and send the information to apaging service. It will transmit to the pager anymessage programmed to be sent to the event logprinter, even if the printer is not being used. The types of messages are divided into 6 categories:Alarms; Troubles; Bypasses; Opens/Closes; System andTest. The VISTA-128FB can be programmed so eachtype of message transmits to a different pager. Eachtype has its own programming field for the pager phonenumber and pager ID. Of course, these could be sent tothe same pager by programming those fields with thesame pager phone number and ID.The 4100APG will hang up between each message.Multiple messages will be sent in the order received. Ifthe 4100APG cannot make contact with the pagingservice, it will retry up to 10 times. If the interfaceloses contact with the VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FB, itwill send a message to the paging service to notify theuser. The pager interface must be wired to a differentphone line than the VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FBitself. Otherwise, the communication of bothwill not function properly.4100APG LED IndicationsBelow is a table outlining the LED indications:LED Steady Blinking Off PulsePower OK On Battery(B/U)NoPowerLine Not in use (OK) In UseCall Call in Progress Page Retry IdleBusy Telephone Busy No Dial Tone OKPage Page Fail OK Page OKData No Data Msg DataLoad No Data Prog DataTRBL Trouble OKMounting the 4100APGThe 4100APG may be mounted in the control cabinet ifspace is available or, if this is not possible, on the sideof the cabinet or adjacent to it.
