VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FB Installation and Setup Guide3-8Wiring Burglary and Panic Devices to Zones 1-8The maximum zone resistance is 100 ohms forzones 1, 2 and 8, and 300 ohms for all otherzones (excluding the 2K EOL resistor). To wire burglary and panic devices to zones 1-8, connectsensors/contacts to the hardwire zone terminals (15through 27). Connect N.C. and N.O. devices as follows:x Connect N.C. devices in series with the high (+)side of the loop. The 2K EOL resistor must beconnected in series with the devices, following thelast device.x Connect N.O. devices in parallel (across) theloop. The 2K EOL resistor must be connectedacross the loop wires at the last device.Using 2-Wire Smoke Detectors on Zones 1 and 2Zone 1 and 2 can support up to 16 2-wire smokedetectors each (32 total). The alarm current on zones 1 and 2 supportsonly one smoke detector in the alarmed state. When assigned zone type 9 or 16, the second entry of aUser Code + off at a keypad interrupts power to thesezones to allow detectors to be reset following an alarm.Compatible 2-Wire Smoke DetectorsDETECTOR TYPE DEVICE MODEL #Photoelectric, direct-wire System Sensor 2400Photoelectric w/heat sensor, direct-wire System Sensor 2400THPhotoelectric w/B401B base System Sensor 2451Photoelectric w/heat sensor & B401B System Sensor 2451THIonization, direct-wire System Sensor 1400Ionization w/B401B base System Sensor 1451Photoelectric duct detect (DH400 base) System Sensor 2451Photoelectric duct detect (DH400 base) System Sensor 2451Ionization duct detector (DH400 base) System Sensor 1451DHIonization, direct-wire System Sensor 1100Ionization w/B110LP base System Sensor 1151Photoelectric, direct-wire System Sensor 2100Photoelectric w/heat sensor, direct-wire System Sensor 2100TPhotoelectric w/B110LP base System Sensor 2151ULThese smoke detectors are UL Listed for usewith the VISTA-32FB/VISTA-128FB and arethe only 2-wire smoke detectors that may beused.Wiring 2-Wire Smoke Detectors to Zones 1 and 22K EOL resistors must be used on fire zonesand must be connected across the loop wiresof each zone at the last detector. To wire 2-wire smoke detectors to zone 1 and/or zone 2,perform the following steps:Step Action1 Select 2-wire smoke detectors from the list ofcompatible detectors.2 Connect 2-wire smoke detectors across zone 1(terminals 15 and 16), and/or zone 2(terminals 17 and 18) as shown in Figure 3-9.Observe proper polarity when connecting thedetectors.3 Connect the EOL resistor at the last detectorin the loop across the zone 1 terminals. TheEOL resistor must be connected acrossthe loop wires at the last detector.ZONE 12-WIRE SMOKEDETECTORSMOKE2000 OHMSEOLR15162_wiresmk-001-V0Figure 3-9: 2-Wire Smoke Detector on Zone 1 (forzone 2 use terminals 17 & 18)Using 4-Wire Smoke Detectors on Zones 1-8You may use as many 4-wire smoke detectors as can bepowered from the panel's Auxiliary Power outputwithout exceeding the output's rating (1A).Auxiliary power to 4-wire smoke detectors isnot automatically reset after an alarm, andtherefore must be momentarily interruptedusing either the auxiliary relay or a 4204 RelayModule.Compatible 4-Wire Smoke DetectorsUse any UL Listed 4-wire smoke detector that is ratedfor 10-14VDC operation and that has alarm reset timenot exceeding 6 seconds.
