Precautions1. Do not attempt to disassemble the camera. To prevent electric shock, do not remove screws orcovers. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.Ask qualified service personnel for servicing.2. Handle the camera with care.Do not misuse the camera. Avoid striking, shaking, etc. The camera could be damaged by improperhandling or storage.3. Install the camera at a location that is able tosupport its total weight.Installing at a location that is not strong enough cancause the camera to fall down or tip over. Be sureto reinforce weak locations sufficiently beforeinstalling the camera.4. Use the fall-prevention wires to reduce the riskof the camera falling down.Do not detach the fall-prevention wire securing thecamera. Otherwise the camera could fall down, causing injury to persons and damage to thecamera.5. Never aim the camera at the sun.Whether or not the camera is in use , never aim it atthe sun or other extremely bright objects.Otherwise, blooming or smear may be caused.6. Never aim the camera at strong light sources foran extended period of time.A light source such as a spot light causes burn-inon the display screen. Failure to observe this maycause the image to become discoloured due todeterioration of the colour filter in the CCD.7. Do not operate the camera beyond the specifiedtemperature, humidity or power source ratings.Do not use the camera in an extreme environmentwhere high temperature or high humidity exists. Donot place the camera near heat sources such asradiators, stoves or other units that produce heat.Use the camera under conditions where tempera-ture is between –40 °C to +50 °C and humidity isbelow 90 %.The input power source is 220 V - 240 V AC for WV-CW970 and 24 V AC for WV-CW974.-6-The camera's auto tracking function operates by usingimage recognition. The client is responsible forunderstanding and applying the following warningsregarding installation and operation necessary toprevent losses due to malfunction or lack of detectionas a result of unforeseeable aspects of the installationarea.• The camera's tracking function is for monitoringunknown intruders. It is not suitable for locationswith large numbers of people such as intersectionsor retail stores. Be sure to confirm this beforeinstalling the camera.• Be sure to set the height of the camera under thedetailed settings (page 41) of the auto-trackingfunction.• Install the camera in a horizontal configuration, withthe dome pointed downwards.• Install the camera securely so that it does not sway.High resolution operation may reduce performance.• The camera cannot track well horizontally or directlybelow itself, so avoid this type of installation.• Install the camera and adjust the view angle so thatpeople do not move vertically on the screen.Vertical motion creates only small deviation on thescreen and may not be detected.• Dirt or scratches on the dome cover make it difficultto see the image which may reduce performance.Periodically clean the dome cover.About the Auto-Tracking Function• Rain or snow on the dome cover may reduceperformance. Consider placing the camera undereaves or some kind of cover.• Use the electronic sensitivity enhancement (page 29)if using the camera at night (approximately 10 lx).• Use the detection area mask (page 42) to avoiddetection errors caused by the motion of trees ortraffic.• Auto-tracking may start for vehicles or other non-human movements, however, this is not amalfunction. Adjust the view angle or use detectionarea masking (page 42).• Adjust the view angle or use detection areamasking (page 42) if there is strong back lighting, neon lighting or other flashing lights, or reflection onglass or the surface of a road in the image.• To detect people, adjust the view angle so that thepeople are about 1/5 of the vertical height of thescreen.• Periodically replace consumable parts (page 7).The pan, tilt and zoom functions operate inunison to track moving subjects smoothly.
