10.1 Registering sub monitorsAdditional sub monitors (additional accessories, ®page 4) can be registered and used with this product.10.1.1 Registering a sub monitor to the mainmonitor1 : From the top menu, touch ®® [Register/Cancel] ® [Register] ® [Submonitor station] ® select the number of the submonitor to be registered.R After this, use the sub monitor and complete thefollowing steps within about 2 minutes.2 *1 : When "Please register the device." is displayedon the sub monitor screen, press ( ) ®(Yes).R "Registering completed" is displayed.3 : Press .*1 To re-register cancelled sub monitors:( ) ® : "Register" ®( ) ® (Yes)10.2 Using repeatersIf the sub monitor or camera are used away from themain monitor, or if there are obstructions (® page 8)between the sub monitor or camera and the mainmonitor, the following problems may occur. In thesecases, using a repeater (additional accessory, ®page 4) may improve transmissions between thedevices.– calls with the sub monitor cut out and images aredistorted– images from the camera are distorted or notificationsfrom camera sensors cannot be received– When is displayed for the sub monitor or thecamera’s indicator lamp flashes in red, the mainmonitor cannot connect to the sub monitor or cameraNote:R Up to 2 repeaters can be used. A single repeater canbe used to send signals to multiple sub monitors orcameras. However, the same repeater cannot sendsignals to both sub monitors and cameras.R Signal range differs depending on factors such as thestructure of rooms or the types of walls used. Afterregistering devices to the main monitor (®page 40), see the repeater’s Getting Started forinformation about appropriate installation locations.Signal range and repeater installation exampleUsing each repeater connected separatelyThis extends signals away from the main monitor.Because signals are sent through the main monitor,different types of devices can be connected to eachrepeater. (For example, sub monitors can be connectedto one repeater and cameras can be connected toanother.) This is useful when you want to connect todifferent types of devices over shorter distances.When repeaters are not used:When repeaters are used:Using 2 repeaters connected togetherThis extends the signal away from the main monitor bysending signals directly between repeaters. Because thesignals are sent between repeaters, the same type ofdevice must be connected to both repeaters (all submonitors or all cameras).
