3.1 Using SD cards (soldseparately)SD cards can be used with the main monitor to recordimages and calls from the doorphone and camera. (®page 19)When an SD card is not used, the main monitor’s internalmemory is used to save images. In this case, onlydoorphone images can be saved and the memorycapacity is limited. We therefore recommend using anSD card to save images.See page 42 for information about SD cards thatcan be used.3.1.1 Cautions for SD cardsR The SD card indicator (® page 11) flashes whendata is being read from or written to the SD card.Do not remove the SD card, press the RESETbutton (® page 11), or turn off the power to themain monitor while the SD card indicator isflashing. Failure to observe this may cause data tobecome corrupted.R SD cards formatted by PCs or other devices mustbe formatted by the main monitor before they canbe used. (® page 41)R When the write-protect lockswitch (A) is set to "LOCK", theSD card cannot be formatted, andimages and audio cannot berecorded or deleted.AR We recommend backing up important data to a PCor other device. Data on SD cards may becomecorrupted or be deleted if SD cards malfunction, orare exposed to electromagnetic waves or staticelectricity.Disposing or transferring SD cardsR Users are solely responsible for the managing ofSD card data.Formatting or deleting SD cards with the mainmonitor, a PC or other device, only changes the filemanagement information and does not completelydelete all data stored on the SD cards.
