Reserving a Busy Line(Automatic Callback Busy)If the called party is busy, you can receive callbackringing from the extension when it becomes available.Set your telephone to receive callback ringing:• When a dialled extension becomes idle.• When the desired outside line that is in use byanother extension becomes idle.When you answer the callback ringing:• For an intercom call:The called extension starts ringing automatically.• For an outside call:The line is seized.Operation in Call List mode1. On the Calls screen, press Set call back.When the extension becomes idle, yourKX-NT400 will ring. When you go off-hook, a call willbe made to the called extension.Operation in Line Buttons mode1. Press .When the extension becomes idle, yourKX-NT400 will ring. When you go off-hook, a call willbe made to the called extension.Usage tips• In either Call List mode or Line Buttons mode, if youtry to seize a busy outside line, press to reservethat line. When the reserved outside line becomesidle and you receive callback ringing, go off-hook,and then dial the outside party.For details about seizing a specific outside line, see"Manual seizing (Page 65)".Note• If you do not answer the callback ringing within10 seconds, this feature will be cancelled.Joining an ExistingConversation (Executive BusyOverride)If your extension has sufficient privileges, you can calla busy party and establish a 3-party conference.Operation in Call List mode1. On the Calls screen, press Override(Conference).You will join the called party’s conversation andestablish a 3-party conference.Operation in Line Buttons mode1. Press .You will join the called party’s conversation andestablish a 3-party conference.Usage tips• In either Call List mode or Line Buttons mode, if youselect a busy outside line, press to join theconversation and establish a 3-party conference.For details about selecting outside lines, see"Manual seizing (Page 65)".• You can also deny others the possibility of joiningyour conversation (Default: Allow). For details, see"Executive Busy Override Deny (Page 103)".Note• To join another conversation, you must haveExecutive Busy Override enabled at yourextension through COS programming.• If Executive Busy Override Deny has been setfor the called party, this operation isunavailable.
