Checking MessagesWhen you receive a message waiting or a voicemessage, a button appears on the HOME screen andthe Message/Ringer lamp lights red. You can checkyour new messages by pressing this button.Checking New MessagesThere are 3 types of messages you can receive at yourextension:• Message waiting.• Messages on the PBX’s built-in voice mail(Simplified Voice Message [SVM]).• Messages on a Panasonic Voice ProcessingSystem (VPS) (e.g., KX-TVM series).Note• Depending on the network and PBXconfigurations, some message types might notbe available. For details about which messagetypes are available, consult your administrator.Checking Message WaitingExtension users can leave message waiting indicationsto indicate that they called and want you to return theircall.1. On the HOME screen, press New Message.2. Press Retrieve Message Waiting.3. Press the message you want to check.4. Press Call Back.Usage tips• Going off-hook automatically calls back theselected party.• If you call back the party that left the messagewaiting and the party answers, the message will beremoved from the message waiting list.• If the Calls screen is set to Line Buttons mode, youcan also check message waiting by pressingon the Calls screen.• You can delete the message waiting by pressing.Checking Messages Stored on theSimplified Voice Message (SVM)SystemIf SVM is configured on the PBX, callers can leave shortvoice messages at your extension.1. On the HOME screen, press New Message.2. Press Retrieve Message Waiting.3. Press the message from the SVM in the list.4. Press Call Back.You will be connected to the SVM. Follow the audioguidance.Usage tips• The message from the SVM is deletedautomatically after checking all new messages onthe SVM.• You can also check messages on the SVM byaccessing your voice mailbox using featurenumbers.
