Usage tips• You can configure the KX-NT400 so that the Dialwindow appears when you press Make aconference. For details, see "Display / OperationSettings (Page 121)".Operation in Line Buttons mode1. Make a call to the first party you want to include inthe conference.For details, see "Making Calls (Page 65)".2. Press (TRANSFER), and then call the party youwant to add to the conversation.For details, see "Making Calls (Page 65)".3. After the called party answers, press(TRANSFER), and then press .Usage tips• You can repeat this procedure to add additionalparties to the conference. You can have aconference with a maximum of eight parties(comprising intercom or outside lines)simultaneously.• During a three-party conversation, pressing(TRANSFER) alternates between the otherparties in the conversation.Removing a Participant from theConferenceDuring a conference, you can remove other parties fromthe conference.This feature is only available during a 3-partyconference.Operation in Call List mode1. On the Calls screen, select the party you want toremove.2. Press Remove participant.The selected party is disconnected, and you cancontinue to speak with the remaining party orparties.Operation in Line Buttons mode1. Press (TRANSFER) once or twice to establisha conversation with the party to be disconnected.The other party will be put on hold.2. On the Calls screen, press FLASH.This will disconnect the party.3. On the Calls screen, do one of the following:• Press the flashing green flexible button thatcorresponds to the original party.• Press INT' if it is flashing.Note• For operation in Line Buttons mode, theFLASH button must be set to External FeatureAccess (EFA) mode. For details, consult youradministrator.Leaving a Conference(Unattended Conference)You can leave a conference call that you establishedand allow the other parties to continue the conversation.Both parties will hear an alarm tone before a specifiedtimeout. You will also hear an alarm tone at yourextension. The call is disconnected when the timer runsout unless you return to the conference.Operation in Call List modeTo leave a conference and be able to return1. On the Calls screen, select the call of one of theparties in the conference.2. Press Make a conference.3. Go on-hook.The other conference participants can continuetalking.Note• When you leave a conference, the status of thefirst conference participant changes to(on hold).
