CHAPTER 4 TESTINGPioneer™ Balances Service Manual 4-5 Ohaus Corporation www.ohaus.com4.4.4 Off-Center Load Adjustment for Analytical ModelsNOTE:Do not attempt these adjustments unless the balance is free from drafts.The balance is very sensitive and adjustments will be affected.1. Set Auto-Zero to Off, in Menu Setup.2. Open the balance. (SeeSection 3.1.)3. Reinstall the Pan.4. Plug the power cord into thebalance and turn it on.5. Place a mass that weighs thebalance’s full capacity on thecenter of the Pan.6. Press O/T (the center button)to tare the balance and returnthe displayed weight to 0g.Move the mass to the front,back, left and right edges ofthe Pan. Note the displayedvalues.7. Correct any errors by turningCorner-load Adjusting screwsas shown in Figures 4-5 and4-6. Use a 6mm nut driver.8. Adjust as shown until thetolerance is +/-5 counts.+– +–+–+ –Figure 4-5. Off-Center Load Adjustments onPioneer Analytical Balance.9. Use small adjustments, nomore than ¼ turn at time.10. Repeat the Off-Center LoadTest.11. Turn the balance OFF.12. Remove the Platform.13. Re-assemble the balance.(See Section 3.3.17.)14. Turn Auto-Zero back to On,in Menu Setup.Figure 4-6.
