CHAPTER 4 TESTINGPioneer™ Balances Service Manual 4-1 Ohaus Corporation www.ohaus.com4.1 TESTINGBefore and after servicing the balance, an operational test and various performance testsshould be made to confirm that the balance meets specifications. Turn the balance on andallow it to warm up. After it reaches ambient temperature, allow it to run for at least one morehour before performing these tests.NOTE:Make sure the test area is free from drafts and that the balance rests on a leveland vibration-free surface.4.1.1 TEST MASSES REQUIREDThe masses required to test the Ohaus Pioneer balances must meet the requirements of ASTMClass 1 or OIML E1 Tolerance. The mass values are listed in Table 4-1.TABLE 4-1. Connect a functioning Power Adapter to the balance power receptacle located at therear of the balance.2. Plug the Power Adapter into a suitable power source.4.3 Segment Display TestTurn the balance on, and ensure that all segments are enabled and displayed briefly.The balance’s model number appears next, followed by a software revision number.This is a Segment Display Test.
