Use the rocker and theENTER button to change settings.General TabThe General tab contains settings forReceiver Mode, WAAS, BacklightTime Out, Beeper, and Language.General Tab PageMode—allows you to choose fromthe following operation modes:Normal—default mode set fromthe factory. Use this setting forbest performance.•Battery Saver—optimizesthe GPS 72H to save batterypower. You may experienceslower screen updates, butyou should notice a significantincrease in battery life. Whenin Battery Saver mode, the GPS72H does not receive WAASsatellite signals. For more batteryinformation, see pages 2 and 41.Simulator—turns off the GPSreceiver and simulates satellitereception.WAAS—Wide Area AugmentationSystem. Use the WAAS capabilityto increase GPS 72H accuracy toapproximately three meters.Backlight Timeout—sets theamount of time the backlight stayson.Beeper—sets a beeper alert forbuttons and message, or messageonly.••
