Using SD Cards34IMPORTANT• Initializing a card will permanently erase all recordings. Lost data cannot be recovered. Make sure you saveimportant recordings in advance (A 113).• Depending on the card, the initialization may take up to a few minutes.Selecting the SD Card for RecordingsYou can select the card on which clips and photos will be recorded.1 Select [Recording Media].> [3 " Recording Setup] > [Recording Media]2 Select the desired SD card ([6 Mem. Card A] or [7 Mem. Card B]) for recording clips([v Rec Media for Movies]) and/or photos ([{ Rec Media for Photos]).3 Select [X].• After closing the menu, the icon of the SD card selected for recording clips will appear on the screen.Dual Recording and Relay RecordingThe camcorder features two convenient recording methods that can be used when both card slots contain acard: dual recording and relay recording.Dual recording: This function records the same clip simultaneously to both cards, which is a convenient way tomake a backup copy of your recordings while you record.Relay recording: This function allows you to continue recording on the other card without interruption when thecard you are using becomes full.1 Select [Dual/Relay Recording].> [3 " Recording Setup] > [Dual/Relay Recording]2 Select [4 Dual Recording] or [ Relay Recording] (or [ Relay Recording]) and then select [X].• When dual recording is activated, the status of both cards will appear at the top right of the screen. Whenrelay recording is activated, the card icon will change to (or ).• Select [Standard Recording] to not use either function.NOTES• If a card becomes full during dual recording, recording on both cards will stop. On the other hand, if an erroroccurs with one of the cards, recording will continue on the other card.• After saving to a computer MP4 relay clips that were originally recorded on different SD cards, you can useMP4 Join Tool to join the files and save them as a single clip (A 113).• Relay recording is available from SD card slot A to SD card slot B, and vice versa, but the switch will beperformed only once.• Dual recording and relay recording cannot be used together with slow & fast motion recording.Operating modes:Operating modes:
