F. Charging Wire1. OutlineAs many as three charging assemblies (prima-ry, pre-transfer, transfer/separation) are installedaround the photosensitive drum.Use a charging wire of 0.06 mm in diameter forthese charging assemblies.As a grid wire, use a 0.1mm-dia. stainless wire.2. Removing the Wire Cleaner of the PrimaryCharging Wire1) While holding the wire cleaner with fingers,disengage it with a flat-blade screwdriver.Figure 4-5213. Routing the Charging WireYou can route the charging wire (not the gridwire) of all charging assemblies in the same way;the following uses the primary charging wire:1) Remove the shielding plate (right, left) of thecharging assembly. To prevent deformation(slack) of the primary charging assembly,remove the left and the right shielding platesindependently.(Do not loosen the screws q on the left andthe right shielding plates at the same time.)Figure 4-5222) Remove the wire cleaner.Remove the lids (2 pcs.) for other chargingassemblies.3) Free a length of about 5 cm charging wire fromthe reel, and form a loop with a diameter ofabout 2 mm.Reference:To form a loop, wind the charging wire oncearound a hex key; then, turn the hex keythree to four times, and twist the chargingwire.4) Cut the excess end of the twisted chargingwire by a nipper.5) Hook the loop on the stud.Figure 4-5234.
