External Connections • 65Playback on a TV ScreenThis section explains how to play backthe disc or still images with thiscamcorder by connecting it to a TV. Toplay back the disc with another DVDdevice refer to Disc Playback on anExternal Device ( 47).1 Turn off the camcorder and the TV.2 Connect the camcorder to the TV.Connection . Refer to ConnectionDiagrams ( 64).3 Turn on the connected TV.On the TV, select as the video inputthe same terminal to which youconnected the camcorder.4 Turn on the camcorder and startthe playback of movies ( 33) orstill images ( 53).NOTES• Sound from the built-in speaker will bemuted while the STV-250N Stereo VideoCable is connected to the camcorder.• We recommend powering the camcorderusing the compact power adapter.• Refer also to the instruction manual ofthe connected TV.Copying your Recordings to an ExternalVideo RecorderYou can copy your recordings byconnecting the camcorder to a VCR or adigital video device with analog audio/video input terminals.ConnectingConnect the camcorder to the VCR ordigital device using connection . Referto Connection Diagrams ( 64).Recording1 External device: Load a blankcassette or disc and set the deviceto record pause mode.2 Camcorder: Locate the scene youwish to copy and pause playbackshortly before the scene.3 Camcorder: Resume the movieplayback.By default, on-screen displays will beembedded in the output video signal.You can change the displays byrepeatedly pressing ( 43).4 External device: Begin recordingwhen the scene you wish to copyappears.
