HeadlampsThe exterior lamp control is located towards the end ofthe turn signal/multifunction lever.O (Exterior Lamp Control): Turn the band with thissymbol on it to operate the exterior lamps.The exterior lamp control has four positions:O (Off): This position turns off all lamps, except theDaytime Running Lamps (DRL).AUTO (Automatic): This position puts the headlampsin automatic mode. AUTO mode turns the exteriorlamps on and off depending upon how much light isavailable outside of the vehicle.; (Parking Lamps): This position turns on theparking lamps together with the following:• Sidemarker Lamps• Taillamps• License Plate Lamps• Instrument Panel Lights5 (Headlamps): This position turns on the headlamps,together with the previously listed lamps and lights.Wiper Activated HeadlampsThis feature activates the headlamps and parking lampsafter the windshield wipers have been in use for aboutsix seconds. For this feature to work, the exterior lampcontrol must be in AUTO.The wiper-activated headlamps immediately turn off,when the ignition is turned to LOCK/OFF or thewindshield wiper control is turned off.Headlamps on ReminderA warning chime will sound if the exterior lamp controlis left on in either the headlamp or parking lamp positionand the driver’s door is opened with the ignition off.See Lights On Reminder on page 3-46 for additionalinformation.3-17
