5. To tighten the belt, push down on the childrestraint, pull the shoulder portion of the belt totighten the lap portion of the belt and feed theshoulder belt back into the retractor. Wheninstalling a forward-facing child restraint, it may behelpful to use your knee to push down on the childrestraint as you tighten the belt.6. If the child restraint has a top tether, follow thechild restraint manufacturer's instructions regardingthe use of the top tether.
