* For additional assistance, please contact Toshiba Adjustable Speed Drive Marketing Dept. at (800) 872-219220Put Jumper 3 in the “TERM” position for the drives that are at the “ends” of the RS485 chain (i.e. onlyone wire is connected to their S1 terminals and only one wire is connected to their S2 terminals).Putall other drives’ Jumper 3 in the “OPEN” position. The “TERM” connection puts a 120 ohm resistoracross S1-S2.** Baud rate is affected by Jumpers 1 and 2 and the setting of RS485 Baud Rate (in theCOMMUNICATION SETTING PARAMETERS group) as follows:RS 485 Baud RateSettingJ1 J2 0 1off off 9600 38400on off 4800 19200off on 2400 9600on on 1200 4800The maximum baud rate on the INV3-COM-B card is 19200.The maximum baud rate on the INV3-COM-C card is 38400.Adjust jumpers appropriately so that all drives have same baud rate. Each slave may be separately trimmed up or down from the master reference by a local speed pot; seeApplication Guideline 11, Trim Pot.Slaves are still stopped/started via keypad or contact closure on the terminal strip.Maximum combined cable length for RS485 is 1000 meters. You must have a version 120 CPU to operate Master-Follower. Check CPU Version in the UTILITYPARAMETERS group to verify (the other version is 101). If you do not have a version 120 CPU,contact inverter marketing and request an option ROM for your version of CPU.
