Chapter 1818-19Turning Off the Power After Normal ModeWhen ending download mode, be sure to executethe HDD shut-down instructions. On the InitialMenu screen, press [stop]>[0]; then, go throughthe shut-down instructions, and turn off the mainpower switch.F-18-4918.4.4.3 Downloading/Writing the SystemSoftware (auto) 0011-6778[1]: Upgrade (AUTO)The system software on the HDD and that in theUSB device are compared. If the latter is new, itwill be downloaded to the temporary storage areaof the HDD. At the end of the downloading, themachine restarts on its own to write the down-loaded system software to the system area of theHDD and the flash ROM.1) If the machine is on, go through the HDD shut-down instructions, and turn off the main power.2) Connect the USB device to the sub port.3) Put the machine in download mode (normal orsafe).4) Go through the instructions on the controlpanel, and press the appropriate key.[1] -> [0]: execute download / other than [0]:go back to Menu screenF-18-505) While downloading is under way, the controlpanel screen shows its progress. Turn off the power, remove theUSB device, and turn the power back on.F-18-5218.4.4.4 Downloading the SystemSoftware (auto or selective) 0011-6779[2]: Upgrade (w Confirmation)The system software on the HDD is comparedagainst that in the USB device. Those system filesthat are newer will then be downloaded to thetemporary storage area of the HDD. If the systemsoftware in the USB is of the same or older ver-sion, however, a message will appear on thescreen, offering a choice. Unlike menu item [1],the machine will not restart on its own. When youturn it off and then back on manually, it will startto write the system software when it starts up.1) If the machine is on, go through the HDD shut-down instructions, and turn off the main power.2) Connect the USB device to the USB port.3) Put the machine in download mode (normal orsafe).4) Go through the instructions indicated on thecontrol panel, and press the appropriate key.[2] -> [0]: execute download / other than [0]:go back to Menu screen
