Responding to Error Messages5-2Troubleshooting5Responding to Error MessagesWhen the status indicator is orange, printing is not possible. If this happens duringprinting, the print operation stops. Read the displayed error message to determinethe appropriate actions necessary to correct the problem.This section describes how to handle error messages that appear on the touchpanel display. The two types of error messages are:• Service Call Messages• Error MessagesNOTE• Other messages that may appear indicate the current condition of the machine.Resetting the Machine After a Service Call MessageIf a Service Call message occurs (Exxx-xxxx, where x represents a number), usethe following procedure to clear the message.1 Press .2 Press [Printer Settings].When a Service Call error occurs, the normal Printer Settings screen does notappear and only the Reset Printer screen appears.3 Press [Reset Printer].IMPORTANT• If the Service Call error message still appears after you have performed this procedure,make a note of the number of the message and contact a service representative.
