Laser SafetyThis Product complies with 21 CFR Chapter 1 Subchapter J as a Class 1 laser productunder the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) RadiationPerformance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of1968. This means that the Product does not produce hazardous laser radiation.Since radiation emitted inside the Product is completely confined within protectivehousings and external covers, the laser beam can not escape from the machine duringany phase of user operation.■ B. CDRH RegulationsThe Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and DrugAdministration implemented regulations for laser products on August 2, 1976. Theseregulations apply to laser products manufactured from August 1, 1976. Compliance ismandatory for products marketed in the United States. The label shown below indicatescompliance with the CDRH regulations and must be attached to laser products marketedin the United States.■ C. Additional InformaftionWhen servicing the optical system of the printer, be careful not to place screwdrivers orother shiny objects in the path of the laser beam. Also, accessories such as watches andrings should be removed before working on the printer. The reflected beam, thoughinvisible, can permanently damage your eyes.
